We are a team of creative scientists and engineers exploring new ways to develop applications of  GRAPHENE and other 2D materials. Research publications immediately followed by directly working with industry to create an impact is our way of contributing to science and technology. We maintain a strong relationship with our collaborators and industry partners. Currently, we have 4 industry sponsored research projects for developing graphene-based products. Graphene Team leader Rakesh is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Materials Science and Engineering and leading  Graphene Research Group. Before joining UNSW as Lecturer, he was a Marie Curie International Fellow at the University of Manchester.

He is the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), Associate Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (AFIChemE) and  among a select group of researchers who have been awarded each of the world’s most prestigious relevant International Research Fellowships; the JSPS Invitation Fellowship; the Humboldt Fellowship (Joshi's Humboldt Fellowship) and the Marie Curie International Fellowship.

Dr Joshi has successfully supervised 5 research students and presently supervising 8 research students. He has received 2018 Outstanding Research Supervisor award from UNSW Arc Postgraduate Council.
