Vantablack® - the world's darkest material
Scientists at Surrey Nanosystems have invented a material so dark it absorbs 99.6% of visible light, making it impossible to discern shapes that are formed from it.
This astonishing new material was launched at the Farnborough International Air Show - Vantablack® has the potential to revolutionise the defence and space industries, as it can be used to achieve new levels of range and sensitivity performance in electro-optical imaging and target acquisition systems.
