Graduation Ceremony 2009
The School’s graduation ceremony was held on Monday evening, 11 May 2009. The University’s Chancellor, David Gonski, presided over the ceremony where the School’s Bachelor of Engineering graduates and a significant 17 PhDs received their graduation awards. Special congratulations should given to Brendan Ratter, who received the University Medal for his outstanding performance in the BE Materials program. Following the ceremony, a reception was held for the graduates and their supporters, including family and friends, School staff and industry representatives. The School’s Prizes were also awarded at the ceremony. The Head of School, Professor Mark Hoffman, encouraged the students to never be frightened of taking risks, as life rewarded those who took the extra step. He also encouraged graduates to remember the School, and in particular those who had supported them throughout their studies. A full list of graduates and prize winners can be found here.
