ARC Research Grant Awards success

The School achieved great success in the November 2013 round of ARC research grants, winning approximately 10% of the total amount awarded to the University. Discovery grants were awarded to:

  • Chris Sorrell and Moreica Pabbruwe ($365k) for X-Ray Activation of Photocatalytic Titania-Coated Biomedical Implants in Situ
  • Aibing Yu ($460k) for Micromechanic modelling and analysis of the dynamics of non-spherical particles coupled with fluid flow
  • Nagarajan Valanoor, Jan Seidel, Anna Morozovska ($330k) for Domain wall nanoelectronics:  The wall is the device
  • Jan Seidel ($380k) for Electronic charge separation at polar topological defects – photovoltaics beyond the conventional p-n junction
  • Jiabao Yi, Kiynori Suzui, Elvesio Morenzoni, Jun Ding and Wai-Tung Lee ($240k) – Spin manipulation in oxide magnetic semiconductors towards spintronics applications
  • Sean Li, Guozhong Xing and Jun Ding ($400k) for Development of Novel Spin Caloritronic Materials and Devices for Heat Management in Nanoelectronic Systems
