Dr Sophie Primig wins APMI International Excellence in Metallography Competition
Dr Sophie Primig and her Austrian refractory-metal team recently received the grand prize in APMI International's Excellence in Metallography Competition at Powdermet 2015. The intent of the competition is to recognise individuals responsible for the metallography used to support and provide evidence for the ideas set forth in a conference technical paper. There is only one prize awarded each year.
Click here to view the paper, entitled "Evolution of strain-induced precipitates in a molybdenum-base Mo-Hf-C alloy".
Sophie recently joined the School's academic staff, having previously been Senior Scientist and Head of the “High Performance Materials and Steels” group, Department of Physical Metallurgy and Materials Testing at Montanuniversitaet Leoben in Austria.
Congratulations to Sophie and her team.
