Exceptional successes in Australia-India Strategic Research Fund Projects

Staff in the School of Materials have been awarded two projects under the Australia-India Strategic Research Fund.
- Nagarajan Valanoor and Paul Munroe have been awarded $300,000 for a study entitled “Topological Defects In Non-Collinear Multiferroics: A Nanodomain Approach To Multifunctionality” together with The National Chemical Laboratories in Pune and
- Veena Sahajwalla and Rita Khanna, together with Miles Park and Peter Graham from FBE, have been awarded $365,000 for a project entitled “Novel Approach for Processing Hazardous Electronic Waste” together with the Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology in Bhubaneswar, IIT (Dehli), and IIT (Roorkee).
- This is an exceptional outcome. Only 7 grants were awarded this year across Australia in the science and technology part of this very competitive scheme, 4 to UNSW and 2 to our School.
