Patrick Tung wins UNSW 3-Minute Thesis Competition
With his presentation about efforts to understand the imperfect atomic structures of lead-free piezoelectrics, postgraduate students, Patrick Tung, won the university three minute thesis competition on Thursday 8th September 2016. Patrick won the Faculty of Science one-minute thesis competition a few weeks ago, and then beat out the competition from across the University.
Patrick was presented with a cheque for $3,000 by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research Training) Prof. Laura Poole-Warren and will now travel to the University of Queensland to represent UNSW in the national competition (no pressure there, Pat!).
Patrick did his undergraduate studies in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at UNSW and continued on to do a research Master’s degree under the supervision of A/Prof. John Daniels. He is currently halfway through his PhD, investigating ferroelectric materials, also with John.
This is a fantastic achievement and we congratulate Patrick on his success.
