Welcome from the HoS
The School has enjoyed a strong year as we move to the end of 2017. Nine staff were successful in academic promotion, which speaks strongly to their outstanding performance.
Our student numbers have increased by 15% across undergraduate, coursework postgraduate and research postgraduate cohorts. The School is now home to over 500 students.
Staff and students in the School have received a range of awards and accolades. Recent notable achievements include Professor Veena Sahajwalla being awarded the 'Plus Alliance Award for Research Innovation'

Once again the School of Materials Science and Engineeing's tent was the most vibrant, exciting and engaging at Open Day!
On November 1, The School hosted the annual "Materials Australia Undergraduate Student Presentation" competition.
