Black Coal Utilisation

The Cooperative Research Centre (CCSD) is one of the centres established under a Commonweath government initiative to bring together researchers from academia, industry, and government-funded organisations for the benefit of the Australian community and industry.

As part of the ARC, CRC and Industry supported research efforts in this field our principal research areas are:

Specialised facilities include vertical and horizontal furnaces (1700oC), Induction Furnace, hot press for briqueting, on-line mass spectometer, high-frequency induction furnace, CCD cameras and image analysis software for sessile drop measurements, and carbon/nitrogen/oxygen/sulphur determination units.
