The School of Materials Science & Engineering offers various postgraduate degrees, both in research and coursework.

The School welcomes enquiries from graduates in Science, Engineering, Technology and related disciplines who are interested in undertaking research leading to the award of the degree of:

These postgraduate programs are designed to accommodate students from a wide range of backgrounds in science, engineering and technology.  The research programs are focused specifically on a range of areas in materials fabrication, processing, performance, characterisation and analysis.  The School currently is involved in research in the general areas of physical metallurgy, process metallurgy, ceramic engineering, and composites.  For more details of the School's research activities, please visit our research website.  Alternatively, the coursework programs are designed specifically for students who have not specialised in materials and wish to improve their level of general knowledge.

Some (but not all) of the recent postgraduate scholarships are shown on our web site. Graduates are advised to consult Prof Sorrell before making a formal application for admission.
