The links of our School with Industry and other partners are a vital part of both our research and the education we provide. Our links with industry include joint research projects, support of postgraduate work as well as an extensive commitment to the future development of the Materials Industry through the support of undergraduate students. Our industry partners are also some of our major employers of graduates and play a vital part in our School life through regular advisory meetings and various functions through out the year.

The Industry Advisory Committee, or Visiting Committee, consists of industry representatives, a UNSW Co-op Program representative, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and the Head of School. The committee meets each year to discuss the curriculum, progress and results of the school and is consulted for any changes to the curriculum.
