Partnering with industry allows the school to stay in touch with industry’s constantly evolving needs so we are always looking for ways to build on our long history of collaboration with the materials industry.

Industry Advisory Board
An integral part of the school's management structure, this board provides a vital link with a key stakeholder group.

Our staff work in close partnership with industry to develop innovative advancements in materials and solve real-world problems, helping industries to stay at the cutting edge and ensure the future of their business. This collaboration includes Australian Research Council Linkage Grants awarded to members of our staff, as well as many direct research contracts.

We encourage participation by our industry partners in our teaching and learning activities and through industrial training placements, sponsorship of scholarships and undergraduate prizes.

Our Visiting Committee, which represents a wide range of industry, is an integral part of the school’s management structure and provides us with a close link with a key stakeholder group.

The school also maintains links with industry through its alumni, who have established careers across a diverse range of industries.
