UNSW Team Graphene: Team of creative scientists and engineers exploring new ways to develop applications of Graphene and other 2D materials. Team leader Dr Rakesh Joshi (Contact: +61 2 9065 9731) is currently leading 5 industry-sponsored research projects on developing graphene-based products for industrial applications. Dr Joshi has over $1.5 million of industry funding as Principal investigator (Lead Chief Investigator) and over $4 million as Chief Investigator (CI) on ARC projects. This team was the finalist (with Sydney Water) for NSW Water Award (Australian Water Association) in Research Excellence Category. Team leader Dr Joshi has over 90 journal articles (and 3 international patents), with over 70 articles as the first/corresponding author. Joshi's Research Journey Interview in Materials Today
Team leader Dr Rakesh Joshi is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Materials Science and Engineering. Before joining UNSW, he was a Marie Curie International Fellow with Nobel Laureate Sir Andre Geim at the University of Manchester. He has a PhD in Semiconductor Nanotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. Joshi is among a select group of researchers who have been awarded each of the world’s most prestigious relevant International Research Fellowships; the JSPS Invitation Fellowship, the Humboldt Fellowship and the Marie Curie International Fellowship.
