Student culture

Welcome to the School of Materials Science and Engineering at UNSW Sydney! The School has approximately 340 undergraduate students. Being a relatively small School allows us to maintain an intimate learning environment where you will work alongside our internationally renowned academic staff to receive the highest quality teaching in an increasingly sought after field of expertise. 


Student Societies

We have two incredibly active student clubs who organise a range of events from casual pizza nights to industry panels and poster competitions. Find out more:

PGSOC is the social arm of the School's postgrad community. It aims to encourage communication among PG students and improve the quality of student life in the School.

MATSOC is the student society for all students studying Materials Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales.
